We went to meet up with our friends who were over at the Air and Space Museum. So we popped in for a second and grabbed a few pictures while we were there.
Awwww yeah! The ORIGINAL original Starship Enterprise! The one actually filmed for the show! Not a replica, or just-like-it. Actually IT! Aren't museums awesome?
We've been here before but there's still a couple more pictures to see. Click on the "Read more" below!
Here was the crazy-long line to get in. Nice to know space is so popular. Our friends inside called us and told us the line out back was not as long so we ran around the building and got in a lot sooner than waiting here would have been.
No longer hidden in the gift shop, the Enterprise is right in the main lobby! They run the lights only a few times a day to avoid the damage over-use would cause. We got there just in time to check it out!
On this side you can see wires on the side of the ship. Did they ever show this side on film? Probably not but amazing to think they worked around it.
The nacelles were spinny-glowing, you can't really see how cool it was in a still-frame picture.
Lights around the shuttle bay, too. I have a plot idea for a new episode: The Enterprise visits a planet inhabited by talking ponies?
Here's an orginal nacelle cap and the metal stand that once supported the model. I guess replacing pieces counts as "restoration" it's still mostly the original Enterprise.
While we were in the Air and Space Museum, we HAD to stop by and say "Hi" to our friend Able the Space Monkey. Still putting smiles on the faces of everypony walking by since 1960!
A REAL bomber jacket. check out the flip-up sunglasses on the leather helmet.
Yay big rockets! Just running through because we've been here before and it's getting late and we wanted to run over and get some Dinosaur pictures today if we can make it.
Had to get one more picture of the Space Monkey plushies in the gift shop. Nice to know she's popular enough to get some merch.
