Natural History 2/3

Quickly running through the Natural History museum in Washington, DC. But still trying our best to "take in" the importance.

There's a laboratory "on display" so you can watch the Scientists um, do stuff. Is this like NASCAR where you secretly want them to mess up so you can watch the wreckage? We don't watch racing but we hear that's a thing?

Click on the "Read more" below for more running-through pictures!

They got so much stuff they can't display it all! This "squirreling away" illustration is fun though.

Huh-Huh. It's a double-coconut. Not what you thought it was.

Cool looking masks. Could you imagine people walking around in those today?

Is it fun when the display includes a magnifying glass? This shell is so tiny!

Yar! Pirate treasure!

Who is "Mammoths" and why are they competing with Brittany Spears? Where am I?

Gross-looking rock?

Could you imagine an ancient person throwing beads around? Let's see future archaeologists try and figure THIS out!

Are these Yoshi eggs? They look kinda like Yoshi eggs!

Hey! Dodo birds! We saw the skeleton earlier.

Cool looking blue rock. Apparently they make blue paint out of this? And have been for hundreds of years!

More other-worldly deep-sea creature pink skeletons. Why are they pink? Nopony knows!

You think they give out a prize if you figure out this mystery? Who doesn't love a good puzzle?

Nice display of rocks we don't have time to check out. Grab a picture and look later!

Oh, gift shop rocks! We might have got one but didn't have time to really browse around.

More grade-school-level humor opportunities with this display of "petrified wood" you could buy. huhuhuh.

My friend got really hit with "the feels" when he saw this rock. I don't know why he made me post this picture.

Lets try to channel some positive energy through these crystals?

This tunnel was pretty deep. I forgot how much this was but it was something like $1800? Hey, somepony's got the money for that cool thing!

From the 2nd level balcony, you can see the whale. It does look a little small from this angle. Still a few more minutes to get some more pictures!
