The third day of our Disney World vacation was spent in the Animal Kingdom park. You're not tired of vacation pictures yet, are you? It's nice to look back at these and use them to re-remember the fun stuff we did. Hope you enjoy tagging along. As as sort-of Xmas gift, we're scheduling posts for EVERY DAY this week! I know it's not really Xmas-related pictures but if you feel like spending some holiday time with Minty, it's the best I could do.
We've already got our tickets programmed into our Magic Bands. Who buys tickets at the park gates these days? You guys have a coupon we could use?
Near the entrance, a puppeteer was walking around this wolf and chasing the kids. It was really cute.
Puppeteer teams and the big polar bears. The bear's tail would wag! Those puppet's art style was cool.
Tree of Life! That's the big tree in the middle of the park. If there's just one picture you have to take here... Who only takes one picture?
Squirrel! Looks like the same art style as those puppets. Where's the squirrel puppet?
Uncle Scrooge! No time to stop for photo lines. Uncle Scrooge would agree that time is money!
Stopped for some lunch before heading out to the rides. There's another group of pictures with the foods. This expedition-style place put you in an adventuring mood.
What's that picture up there? It says "Telephones" is that anything like a cellphone?
What do ya know! It's a working real-life old world telephone! It says Extension 5902 I wonder if you could call this thing, and if you did, who would pick up? That sounds like an adventure. Maybe a sort of lame adventure, but you never know!
I have a friend who's favorite dinosaur is the Stegosaurus. So here's an info poster on it. Ahh what did we do before the Internet?
Aww! This Velociraptor is soooo excited to give me a hug! Come here, you!
Dinosaur the Ride! Fast Pass appointments for right after lunch.
I saw this sign in the line queue and thought it would make a great name for a Pokemon. Kamptobaatar, I choose you!
Surprised by the familiar voice of Bill Nye the Science Guy during the line queue dinosaur lecture. He's talking about the big meteor.
After the dino ride, we stopped in to check out the Finding Nemo Musical. It was an amazing show, the actors were using big fish puppets as they sang the songs. Top quality stage effects all around.
What is that mess over there? It's like a pile of bricks with a bamboo cage around it. Is this "Star Wars rules" who cares what it is, it looks cool.
"Bollywood" dance show. At one point they ask the crowd to join in, but we're much too shy for that.
Old-style statues for the kid and dog from the movie UP!.
We took another break to catch the bird show. It was loosely themed around the UP! movie characters.
It's Russell and Dug, along with a bird trainer and scout guide, and a lot of trained birds. During the show, we saw non-trained regular birds in the trees over there. They must be really confused by this like "what are those birds doing?"
This crazy bird was STARING at us. Okay, we'll get your picture. It's still staring. Is it star-struck by Minty? Or just trying to figure out what I am?
What the...? My friend verified that it's just an unfortunate coincidence that this marketplace is named "Harambe."
Funny local Mickey graffiti. Later we were questing to find the water fountain with the "Trekkers Welcome" sign. We didn't find it but it was probably somewhere in this area. I can mention, "Fichwa" is Swahili for "hidden" so this counts as a Hidden Mickey.
