Hollywood Break

Let's take a break from the Star Wars photos. We were in Disney's Hollywood Studios and happy to spend most of our time on the planet Batuu, but we did some other stuff while we were there, too.

This picture was taken in the early morning but I didn't think it was appropriate to post with the Star Wars pictures. Usually when you get this view, you have a whole day of fun awaiting you!

The Toy Story Land was also a new addition to this park. We walked through it, but otherwise, surprisingly, did not do a single thing here. It was PACKED! Why? Star Wars is right next to it! The Galaxy's Edge had a lot of people in it, but this was insane. There were so many people in this area.

The Tower of Terror is another favorite ride we had to visit. Fast Pass appointments booked months ago saved us about an hour in the standby line!

Walking through the line, lookin' up! We'll be up there in a minute.

"Tower of Terror"? But look at those pretty non-terrifying flowers.

That wall torch is soooo "metal." Who takes pictures of cool-looking wall torches? The line is moving fast but I guess I had time for silly pictures like this.

It's super dark in here but our new camera is taking pictures like a champ. Those cobwebs almost look a little silly there's so much of them.

Another overly-cobwebbed thing. It doesn't quite look so silly outside of our camera's night-vision abilities.

Any hidden goodies up there that our camera can reveal? It must be nice maintaining this ride. They would be like "We're not cleaning on purpose to make it look more run-down." Slackers! Ever heard of a vacuum?

In the attic line part, taking more pictures in the dark. Do you think this "Exit" sign breaks the illusion of being in an old run-down building? Bet you didn't even notice it before I pointed it out.

Is this the big pulley that drops the elevator? Can we fix this? Um, why would we want to do that?

It was pitch-black down there, but our camera can still get a lot of it. There's some kind of poem on that sheet of paper, I can read some of it.

It's fun to watch the needle go alllll the wayyyy down. Haha. That's us next.

"Safely" off the ride, in the gift shop I see this puppet again. Is that from an episode of The Twilight Zone? Did I get this picture before? I feel like I did.

Haha BB-8 balloons! Beep-beep-beeeeep!

Over in the distance is what my friend called the Star Wars "Fashion Show" where the characters go on stage and do a few fashion-like poses to the dramatic music playing. It's a good way to see everybody in a short time. Right now some Death Troopers from Rouge One are on stage, they shoot their guns and there's stage effects with cool lights and smoke.

The big finale has them all on stage at the same time. This is outside of the Galaxy's Edge planet Batuu, so it's okay if they get a little "Hollywood" with the production. There's characters from all different eras of movies from the prequels to the new ones.

We thought the name "Gonzo's Royal Flush" was fun above the restrooms. Here's a funny story: My friend was walking around all day with his custom lightsaber clipped to his belt. Those things are made of solid metal, and are quite heavy. Forgetting this for a moment, when he went to use this restroom, he undid his belt and the weight of the lightsaber nearly yanked his pants off. Lucky he caught it without too much of a show, but he got a good laugh out of it.

Miss Piggy fountain! We must be next to the Muppet Show.

My friend is a big Muppets fan, so luckily we got a chance to sneak in to see the show again.

Funny movie promos on the screen in the waiting room. That Pirates of the Amphibian tagline says "on the high seas, it's easy turning green." Haha that's an obvious poke at Kermit's famous song It's Not Easy Being Green.

No pictures during the show. But the old guy hecklers are up in their balcony over there, and Sweetums runs out later.

One last picture of Kermit before we head on back into the Galaxy's Edge to check out the place at night and grab some space dinner.
