Merry Xmas! I know these pictures are not exactly festive, because we were in the middle of posting pics from our recent vacation. This is more from our day in Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park. We've been posting pictures every day this week, so check back if you missed anything from earlier.
Are we supposed to believe that these trees burst forth from this statue enough to destroy it? Either those are strong powerful trees, or that was some weak stone statue. From the looks of this, neither of those seem true.
Have you ever seen one of these bubble fountains? The water arcs over the top in a flat sphere. This is some kind of hypnotism at work here, because you just feel so overwhelmed with the desire to put your hand in it to check it out.
Animal Kingdom is a sort of Zoo, too. There's all kinds of animals to check out. That big lizard over there was chillin' out! I know it's a rock, but it still looks soooo comfy.
Look on that tree over there! It's a very rare North American Grey Squirrel! There was a crowd around here trying to figure out what animal was supposed to be in this place. We're pretty sure it's not just the squirrel.
How are those big monkeys sitting in that thin tree? 'Sup.
Tiger! It was starting to get dark and it looked like this tiger just wanted to go inside for a nap. It was pacing circles near the door like it knew the routine.
Very ancient-looking scene over here ruined by that shiny gold modern padlock on the door. If this were a movie, we'd have to fix that in post.
Remember back in the day when architecture was a lot more artistic? Haha nobody's been alive that long. Seriously have you seen any modern buildings with windows shaped like that?
What are they hiding under that wooden panel? It's on the other side of this glass window so we can't check.
Is that Legolas with his bow on top of the big elephant? That still only counts as ONE!
It's probably safe to walk under this arch. It only "looks" like a rickety pile of old bricks.
Those are some long horns on that drawing. I wonder if it's accurate?
We relaxed here for a little bit. This ancient wall was a cool looking barrier to protect us from the many nothings on the other side.
Oh! There's one! Waaaaay over there! Oh that was worth the wait.
There was another spot with a tiger in it. This one was playing with this bowl, pawing at it to see what was inside. He got bored and walked away, then we did, too. It's such a trend setter.
Haha I'm a Trek Guide... a Star Trek Guide. I guess I have to return myself here.
There was an aviary section with a bunch of birds walking around. Right in front of people, giving zero cares. Like they know you're not going to feed them so they don't even. Whatever.
Check out the cool rainbow feathers effect on this bird. It must be used to getting it's picture taken.
Eating dinner while the sun sets, checking out the Expedition Everest ride over there. Why does it look like the coaster cars are comically large? Like it's some kind of cartoon over there. They do a show on this lake, but we did not check it out this night.
Here was a neat display of the dog-translation collar from the movie UP!. You press the button and bark at it, and it says the translation. Like bark bark bark! Then the robot voice says "I'm hungry, let's go get some treats!"
We got this picture of the Rainforest Cafe on the way out. I know that place is very much in the same spirit of the Animal Kingdom, but it was still a little odd to see a chain restaurant in a Disney theme park. Even though we got this picture on the way out, there still some more pictures of the other place we visited while we were here... stay tuned.
