Magic Kingdom Haunts

Continuing with pictures in the Magic Kingdom from our Disney vacation!

Haunted Mansion! It's like the Halloween house that's up all year. And you don't even need to walk through it, there's little buggies you get to ride in. Probably not as scary as those houses, though. But way better special effects.

Over an hour wait for the Haunted Mansion! Beep beep, we got Fast Pass over here, excuse us! So I'll use this opportunity to again plug the use of the Fast Pass system. It doesn't work for a few rides, but you can avoid up to THREE of these lines if you plan ahead.

Every rose has a thorn. Now you have that tune stuck in your head? Is it "haunting" you?

While waiting in line, my friend points out the felt on the wall has been rubbed away from guests touching it. That's an authentic aging effect.

Camera in the dark is still a little blurry from the motion of the buggy. I tried to take a few more but it was obvious it was toooo dark in here. Haunted Mansion wins over camera.

Just sitting back and enjoying the ride, but the buggy did stop for a minute in front of these ghosts. So we snapped a decent picture of them.

Here's a bunch of tombstones plaques with pun-ny names on them, like Hal Lusinashun and Paul Tergyst.

When you exit the mansion, you go past this pet cemetery. The frog up top is a reference to the old Toad's Wild Ride that's not here anymore.

This cat's marker has all nine lives mentioned. You can zoom in to see all of the descriptive reasons for each life.

What part of the Magic Kingdom is that giant crane for? Haha it's there to help build the new Tron ride. Guess there's stuff they can't really hide no matter how much magic they put on it.

Over to Tomorrowland we go. Here's the line for the Buzz Lightyear ride. Square planet? How exactly does that work? Who cares, it looks cool.

Agh! We were beaten. We were a lot further behind halfway through but didn't have enough of a comeback at the end.

Up on this platform waiting to get into the Carousel of Progress, trying to get a picture to show the massive crowd of people down there. The whole park was like that today, it was pretty crazy.

The heat inside was nice. The ride got "stuck" for about four minutes, so the show looped back to the beginning of this section. Then the guy stopped at a point not scripted as the end and jumped to the ending it was a little funny.

I asked my Disney enthusiast friend what that tower was and he thought it was nothing in particular, just to look futuristic. It's above the old Stitch ride, is that a Stitch thing?

My friend swears that I've been to the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor before but I'm a huge Monsters Inc fan and every time I've been here I never had the chance to go. I think I'd remember if I did? Are there pictures? Also, I love the cheekyness of the line "The Future of Energy is a Joke." That's deep.

Apparently you can text them jokes which might be included in the show. Good luck catching the exact show they use them in. I wonder if they let you know ahead of time?

Check it out! It's the closet door tech from the movie! On the other side, you'll be in Monsteropolis!

Awesome "monster" vending machine. I remember they had vending machines in the Kingdom Hearts levels, I wonder if they match?

Oh, there's so much text to read over there on that message board. Let's just take a picture and hope the quality is good enough to zoom in later.

This whole thing is a spoiler for the movie, so you probably should have seen it before you came. The movie is very old, what's the time limit on spoiler tolerance?

Is B. Brute a reference we don't recognize? Room 432?

Another "wall of text" to check out later.

Okay I don't remember this at all. There's some kind of technology going on here that has the monster on screen interacting LIVE with the audience. Cracking jokes like a real comedy show. But it's a monster on the screen/stage. Somewhat mind-blowing.

This show was genuinely hilarious. I can't believe I've not seen this before and it will be something I'll look forward to the next time.

Looking this way over the lake, you can almost forget the millions of people right behind me and all around me on this crowded day.

Look at that grey sky. Out go the umbrellas for sale. We were waiting in line here for a desert snack, there's another batch of pictures full of the foods we ate later.

Over to the Hall of Presidents. There's a little museum in there where they have personal items from a lot of the Presidents. Who else goes "awwww!" at the puppy tag?

Could you even imagine finding a lost dog and seeing THIS on the tag? You just know there's somebody who would be like "there's no address, how am I supposed to know where The White House is? Lots of houses are white!"

Newly-added President Trump to be seen here. I'll stay away from all the politics and just say this was the best robot I've ever seen. Best of all the robots. That's what everyone says.

Tried to get a wide picture showing all the Presidents. Also caught Trump speaking and doing his hand gesture where he presses his fingers together, if you care to zoom in. Gotta give the Disney people credit, it probably took a lot of work to get those gestures right.
