Goodnight Star Wars

This is the final batch of pictures from the Galaxy's Edge! These are from the night time, the locals on planet Batuu say "rising moons!" to greet you at night.

This droid is in the line for the older Star Tours ride, which is outside of the Galaxy's Edge part. He was complaining about his job making funny comments. Let's all step back a moment and think how fun it is that the "robots" in Star Wars have opinions and emotions.

Why did I get a picture of the wall? This is normally in the background and only there to "look cool in the background" because who really needs a blue-lighted wall? The sun set while we were on this ride.

Rising moons! Back in the Black Spire Outpost on planet Batuu. All lit-up for night time.

This is in Docking Bay 7, which is the "bigger" restaurant. And um, cargo facility. I guess the cargo is food.

These Power Droids are all over the place! You think they got a discount for ordering a lot of them?

I had a separate group of pictures for the space food we ate, but here's some more pictures of the restaurant. Are these big ketchup and mustard container chairs? You think they have ketchup and mustard in Star Wars?

These look like space fish. Are we eating space fish? Maybe my friend could eat fish if it was from space? He doesn't think so.

You can stand under the big cargo container and look up to see some stuff. I'm sure it's not going to fall down...

Thankfully, the space fish did not reek of fish. This looks like it should be hard to stand next to, but we were okay. Looks pretty fresh.

That Tie Echelon looks extra cool at night time with the landing pad lights on it.

This Stormtrooper was asking for this guy's identification. I think he's in trouble. We kind of wanted to get hassled by Stormtroopers, too. Looked like fun.

Next to the Tie is the First Order gift shop. There's another group of pictures with merchandise, but there's stuff up top to see, too. Check out the energy baton thing. Don't you want to grab it and yell "TRAITOR!"

Thought it might be nice to get a wide shot of the crowd. Check out those guys sparring with their newly-made lightsabers. They better be careful none of the Stormtroopers are around.

This was a favorite spot to relax. A quiet little corner. It looks like there's housing up there. Hi, neighbor!

Full moon on the planet Batuu. Make sure to take a moment to focus and appreciate the "force" of being surrounded by this world.

Stormtroopers knocking on a door in the distance. This kid shows up and starts... distracting them? Is somebody getting away from them? How easy it is to let your imagination wander here.

Oga's Cantina! You wouldn't know it was a bar, because in Star Wars they called it a "cantina." Is this a wreched hive of scum and villainy?

Ohhhhh my, that's a LOT of text to translate! Get yourself a chart and start... wait, does this feel like homework? There's so much of it! The top part says "Notice Board."

That top one says "Found - Dusty black vest with multiple pockets in the Corellian style." So yeah, all of these are probably real treats to translate.

In the Cantina, you can see DJ R3X, the original pilot droid from the Star Tours ride. The story says his ship crashed on this planet, and Oga found him and re-purposed him to run the music in the place. I'd like to request "Mad About Me" by the Modal Nodes, please. Oh, I'm SURE you know that tune.

One last thing to do in the Black Spire Outpost. We've got to volunteer at Ohnaka Transport Solutions. By "volunteer" I mean, ride this ride.

Yep, we're about to fly the Millennium Falcon! The line queue wraps all around the ship so you get to see it from every angle in it's full-sized glory.

The Millennium Falcon is parked here for expensive repairs. Fan-favorite scoundrel Hondo Ohnaka is "borrowing" it to smuggle cargo, to help pay for the repairs. And he needs volunteers to fly it. That's... US!!!

This space water fountain is off the exit for the ride. The first time we flew, we got gunner and engineer assignments, which are the back seats. It's still a fun ride, but we wanted to be pilots. Luckily we were able to jump back in line before they closed.

The second time through, I noticed Hondo's droid up there! It's R5-P8, we have the action figure of that guy! So that was an extra bit of excitement.

Every bit of this ride feels exactly like you are going to fly the Millenium Falcon. You walk through the corridors and get to go through the lounge area on your way to the cockpit!

Check me out on the chess table! I suggest a new strategy. Let the Minty win!

On the way to the cockpit, you can see the tunnel that leads to the gunner positions. But for this ride, the gunner buttons are in the cockpit with everyone else.

Words cannot explain how cool it was to pilot the Millennium Falcon. This is a ride, but it's also like a giant flight simulator. The controls actually move the ship! The (Han) pilot on the left gets left/right control, and (Chewy) right pilot gets up/down. Engineer and Gunner positions get other various buttons to click during the flight. Since we were the last flight of the night, Ohnaka's crew let my friends take a few selfies in the cockpit after it was over. They got to fly all by themselves just like Han and Chewie, a moment they would have imagined to be a perfect scenario, actual came true. And a perfect finale to their Star Wars adventure!
