Wizard Scrolls!

We enjoyed our newly-discovered Wizard Scroll sandwich idea so much that we decided to try a different "spell." Of course we took some pictures of the magical casting, er... cooking, to share.

This time we are going to try Roast Beef and Swiss Cheese, with Au Jus dipping sauce. We expected to find jars of Au Jus in the super market but apparently they don't sell it. A quick Internet search told us that you can use Beef Broth and Soy Sauce, so that made us a bit nervous but we gotta have the dipping sauce to give it the extra magic power.

Visionary Sandwiches

Once upon a day, we were having a conversation with a friend, who was describing the meal he prepared over the weekend. When he mentioned baking croissants, my friend had a vision. A vision of rolling up meat and cheese into a croissant, and the possibility of creating a new type of... sandwich? Could it possibly work? Dare we try to make the sandwich of The Prophecy?

We didn't know if this would work out okay. If the croissants would bake all the way through, if the meat would burn, if the cheese would make a mess of the whole thing. There seemed like there could be a lot to go wrong here. But the vision was so clear. Here we go!

Thanksgiving Trip

Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you, internet, for letting us post pictures and stuff. 

This giant cookie covered in frosting was brought to our Thanksgiving day, and during the next few days we almost single-handedly ate the entire thing. Part of me wanted to gobble the whole thing down right away but I'm glad we made it last longer.

NYC Torture Stores

Shopping in New York City! While shopping online has it's charms, there's nothing quite like seeing things in person. I guess you are looking at the pictures we took um, online, so... it's not the same thing? But we were there, so enjoy the pictures.

Ducking Quest

The fun quest of the day was to see if we could find the crazy Mandarin Duck in Central Park, and get a picture. If you don't know about this yet, recently this duck showed up in New York City. It's not any type of species that's native to anywhere in America, so how did it wind up here? It hasn't quite reached epic viral attention yet, but it's somewhat of a celebrity, and just the type of silly thing we like to get excited about.

Here's the map of Central Park. I'd point out all the flaws in the quest but that might spoil the ending... It's a pretty big park, we are looking for one single duck, and by the time we got there, there was only an hour or so before sunset. Just don't want to get anypony's hopes up.

Fall Walking

Bored on a weekend, heading into "The City" to walk around for a while. So it's a good chance we'll get some pictures to share.

Passing by this train station; If this town has a local college, it would be Metuchen University, or Metuchen U. When you say that out loud, it sounds like everytime you tell somepony where you went to college, expect them to yell for a security guard.

Mysterious Space Jacket

Ah, old Sci-Fi TV shows. There's just something imaginationally comfy about those shows. Today's Sci-Fi seems a little too dark and gritty. Can we get back to the happy fun space style?

So we were watching this old episode of Buck Rogers in the 24th Century, and James Sloyan guest stared in it. He would later go on to play memorable roles in Star Trek so we were excited to see him. In the episode, We casually noticed he was wearing a very cool looking rogue outfit. Buck Rogers did tend to have a neat art style throughout.

New Hope Solo

New Hope! We've visited before but it's been a while since we went, so we... went. And took a bunch of pictures to share. 

If you don't remember, we park the car in Lambertville, New Jersey, and then walk across the bridge into New Hope, Pennsylvania. And if you're a tourist, you stop for the photo op on this line on the bridge.

Inspiration

This blog started with an inspiration to share fun moments for somepony who was, and still is I hope, very dear to my friend. It grew into a comforting hobby to share fun moments with anypony who cared to look. We hope there's somepony out there who would still enjoy to share some fun moments with us.

Why would we take a picture of a floor tile? This tile came from a bathroom where it had come loose from the rest of the floor. Every time you stepped on it, which was often because it was right in the middle of the floor, it would stick to your foot and promptly fall off. Clink! It was annoying, but also a little funny. Kick it back into it's spot, ready to do it again. Why didn't anypony glue it down? Clink! Again. For years. The tile never broke, nor did anypony glue it down for good. When the bathroom was due to be renovated, we kept this lone tile to remind us of all the fun times we had. Just goes to show how something seemingly worthless can be precious. Some ponies would say it's just a stupid tile, throw it away.

Hightstown Halloween 2018

Upon recommendation, My friend took his girls over to nearby Hightstown to roam around and get some Halloween fun. By "girls" I mean Minty and Lucille. Do you have to ask who Lucille is? That's part of the costume!

It's amazing how much cheer a leather jacket and a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire can generate. We couldn't go more than a few minutes without somepony yelling "NEGAN!" happily. It was really quite uplifting.

Halloween 2018 part 2

More pictures of Halloween shopping adventures. So we kind of backed-up the picture posting and these are up after Halloween. Kind of like the reverse of when stores get in the holiday merchandise months ahead of the date, but I guess these are only a few days late. Anyway... Enjoy the extended spookiness.

Zombie store? A lot of old Toys R Us store locations were resurrected into pop-up Spirit Halloween Stores. So, like, the happy toy store is now a ghoulish version of it's former self. It felt a little cool being able to sneak back into those places for a little bit.

Caught this thing climbing the wall in the apartment. Thankfully it cooperated into the jar but it made a brief OMG dash away on it's 30 or so legs. It would have been impossible to sleep had it gotten away. Even in the jar, the thought of it having other friends is keeping us awake a little.

Princeton Battlefield part 1

While driving past Princeton, we spotted a historic battlefield. So we planned our next bike trip to stop by and check it out for some pictures. 

Here's the sign. This battle was from the Revolutionary War between the American Colonists and the British. That's some history!

Flat?

Flat tire! One day when we were about to go out for a ride, we noticed out rear bike tire was completely out of air. After pumping it up and going out for about 15 minutes, it was obvious we were going to have to turn around and head back home.

We didn't get the "before" picture of the flat tire. Here's the bike already flipped over and wheel removed. My friend doesn't remember doing this before so fun adventure awaits!

How did this boat get in the canal? It fits almost the whole width and there are no ramps or anything in this section. I guess this whole canal was dug on purpose a long time ago so it makes sense it would need a bit of maintenance like this.
